Our Financial Health Services provide no cost, timely, and judgment-free support for people across Northwestern Ontario. We meet people where they are, honour lived experiences, and support financial wellbeing in a safe and inclusive environment.

We support people with low to moderate incomes, and specialized services are available for survivors of gender-based violence as well as for Indigenous and Black peoples, youth, and people living with disabilities.

What is Financial Well-being?

A state of being where you have control over day-to-day finances, the capacity to absorb financial shocks, are on track to meet financial goals, and possess the freedom to make choices that allow you to enjoy life. It combines financial security with a healthy, low-stress relationship with money.

The ability to comfortably meet current commitments, such as paying bills and debts on time, while also having savings for emergencies.

Financial Safety for Survivors of Gender Based Violence

Financial abuse is a form of gender based violence that involves behaviours to control someone’s ability to earn, access or use money. We know that financial control and abuse impacts 95% of individuals who have experienced gender based violence.

Our specialized gender based violence financial health counsellor can support you in understanding the impacts of financial abuse and share tools and strategies to rebuild your financial wellbeing.

This program is available to anyone who has been impacted by financial abuse and their families.
