B-SAFER is a guide for the assessment and management of risk for spousal assault. Spousal violence is a common and dangerous form of violence. The development of the B-SAFER Risk Assessment instrument helps users to exercise their best judgement. The administration procedures and risk factors included in the B-SAFER guide were determined from a review of hundreds of scientific and professional publications on spousal violence.
This training session will prepare participants to use the B-SAFER guide and apply it with confidence.
B-SAFER Training will appeal to those working in law enforcement and corrections settings, as well as those who work specifically with victims of spousal violence.
Attendees should be experienced in working with victims/offenders of intimate partner violence. Training Manuals and worksheets will be provided.
The training session will feature Tracey Marshall, President of Threat Management Matters. Tracey has over 20 years of law enforcement experience with the Toronto Police Service and the Durham Regional Police Service, serving most recently as a Detective in the Threat Assessment Unit.
