Support Services for Male Survivors

Approximately 1 in 6 men will experience sexual abuse in their lifetime.

The Male Survivors Program provides free and confidential counselling support to men who have experienced sexual abuse or assault. Family members and significant others are also able to access counselling to support their loved ones.

The program supports men aged 16 and over to regain a sense of control over their lives by developing positive coping skills. It is designed specifically to meet men's needs in a way that speaks to men.

Please do not live in silence. Share how you are feeling with someone you can trust.

If you're ready to talk, we're ready to listen.

Male Survivors Luncheon

Thunder Bay Counselling Centre, Catholic Family Development Centre, Nishnawbe Aski Nation, Thunder Bay Sexual Assault & Sexual Abuse Counselling & Crisis Centre and Children’s Centre Thunder Bay, hosted a unique workshop for local professionals focused on supporting Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse or Sexual Assault.

The event was led by keynote speaker; author Tom Wilken, who has worked as a Probation Officer for the past nine years with both the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of Children & Youth.

Don Campion also spoke at the event. Don is a long term advocate for male survivors of sexual abuse. His courage and strength has brought him to a place where he has become the voice for many victims who believe they don’t have one.
