Anita Jean

Anita Anita is the Manager, Health and Social Programs, at the NorWest Community Health Centres. Anita oversees programs, accreditation processes, telemedicine, IT, and the implementation of ECR at the Community Health Centre’s three sites. Previously, Anita has worked for Cancer Care Ontario and the Canadian Cancer Society.
She has an MBA and more than 20 years of experience in the volunteer and health care sectors. Anita is an avid scuba diver and has lived in Thunder Bay for over 16 years.
Bill Liggins

Bill and his family moved back to Thunder Bay after being away for 12 years experiencing life in a number of different communities in Canada. Bill has worked in the financial sector working with BMO Bank of Montreal and over ten years in the non-profit sector with the CNIB. He recently worked for the Ontario March of Dimes as an Employment Specialist.
Bill has a Social Services Worker Diploma and has embraced life-long learning by taking additional certificates and courses over the years. As a volunteer Bill has previously been involved with Lions Clubs, United Way, Fort Frances School Board and Door of Hope Counselling.
Charles Ranta

Charles became a member of the Board of Directors in June 2011. He is a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay and obtained a BA from Lakehead University before beginning his 30 year career as an elevator technician. Charles and his wife Lynn like to travel and spend time with their family and pets. Charles also enjoys downhill skiing and working on home renovations.
Being a parent and grandparent, Charles appreciates the multitude of services offered to the community by the Thunder Bay Counselling Centre and looks forward to serving on the Board of Directors.
Danielle Peuramaki
Danielle Peuramaki has a long career in education, first as a French Immersion teacher, then as a Vice Principal and finally as a Principal for Lakehead Public Schools. In June 2006, Danielle was elected to the Thunder Bay Counselling Centre Board of Directors. Danielle was Chair of the By-laws and Nominating Committee for a number of years and also Member-at-large. Danielle is currently the Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Her background in education and as a first generation Canadian gives her a wide range of experiences with cultures, families, children and the community to draw from when serving on the Board.
In addition to her passion for education, Danielle loves to take care of her pets, tending to her garden, traveling and walking to improve her health.
Darlene Niemi
Darlene is currently the Director of Children and Residential Services with Children’s Aid Thunder Bay. Darlene also works as a Clinical Agent for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and sits on the Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay and District Coordinating Committee to End Woman Abuse.
Darlene has a Masters of Social Work Degree and was previously on the Board of Directors of Shelter House Thunder Bay.
Donna Lagergren
Donna was born and raised in Thunder Bay. In 1986 she received her
Nursing Certificate as a RPN and is currently employed as a community health
nurse at Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care. In 2007 she graduated from Lakehead University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies.
Donna is enrolled in her third year of the Bachelor of Science of nursing at Lakehead University.
From February 2007 to June 2011, she served on the Board of Directors with Community Living Thunder Bay in which she shared a memorable experience. She is looking forward very much in serving as a Board Member with Thunder Bay Counselling Centre.
Duncan Macgillivary
As a personal injury lawyer, and as a person with a young family, Duncan realizes the benefit of an organization like Thunder Bay Counselling Centre. Thunder Bay Counselling Centre provides a wide range of useful services to the people of Thunder Bay, including a variety of service options for those with limited financial means. These services help to foster a safer and healthier community.
Duncan feels it is a privilege to work with Thunder Bay Counselling Centre as a Board Member. Each Board Member brings a unique perspective to Board and the Board works cohesively in providing long-term vision and direction to the Centre. Duncan is currently the Chair of the Board.

Megan Major
Megan was born and raised in Thunder Bay, and is proud to have her roots in such an amazing city. After many years in the financial services industry and working for the Provincial Government, Megan decided to pursue her dream and become a teacher. Megan is an avid runner and is actively involved with the running community. She is committed to promoting health and fitness and was honoured in 2009 by the Ontario Provincial Police as the recipient of the Eric Nystedt award. Megan believes that The Thunder Bay Counselling Centre is an integral part of our city and is looking forward to many more years as a member of the board. Megan is currently the past chair of the Board.Nancy Hudyma
Elected to the Board of Directors in June of 2008, Nancy Hudyma is a life long resident of Thunder Bay and is currently a Branch Manager with TD Canada Trust where she has worked in various roles over the past 23 years.
Nancy's experience with the Bank has prepared her well to serve on our Board. Previously as a Financial Advisor, she helped many clients find solutions that met their needs and in her current role she strives to create a positive environment each and every day for staff and customers. She is dedicated to excellence in governance and working with the Board to support the Centre's vision of healthy people living in safe and healthy communities. She passionately believes in the strengths, self-determination and potential of all people and is committed to the principles of integrity, justice and excellence.
Nancy has been married for 18 years and she and her husband Paul have 2 beautiful daughters whom they are extremely proud of.
Pauline Fontaine
Pauline has been a resident of Thunder
Bay since 1980. She is a proud mother of two wonderful children. In her spare time, she enjoys her family, friends, travelling and reading. After attending Lakehead University she began her career with Lakehead Public Schools as a French Teacher in 1992. In recent years, she has had the privilege of becoming a Vice Principal. In the spring of 2009, she became a member of Board of Directors for Thunder Bay Counselling Center.
Her experience in the field of Education has enabled her to be involved with families who have accessed various service agencies in our community. She is proud and honoured to work with the Thunder Bay Counselling Centre as a Board Member recognizing the vital services provided.
